Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club O This website is
dedicated to all the past and present
members of the Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club
(WaterlooRPC) for their hard work, devotion and perseverance over the last
75 years. O The Club was
first founded in 1934 as the Rumseyville
Pistol Club. The
Club and shooting range
was located on the top floor of a large building
complex at the east end of downtown Seneca Falls,
NY. A year later the name of the Club was changed to Seneca
Falls Rifle & Pistol Club. In April of 1935 the Club incorporated and in April of 1936
became an affiliated member of the NRA. The Seneca Falls Rifle & Pistol Club, Inc. continued to use the Seneca
Falls location till it moved in 1952 to its current location in Waterloo, NY. Homer Jenkins, a long time member
of the Club, donated
some 27 acres of land to the Club. The property had
once been a stone quarry and it turned out
to be the perfect place to relocate the shooting club. In
2000, to alleviate the confusion of having
the Club name not
matching the geographical location, the name of the Club was
changed to Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club, Inc.

**Important Notice** We
have had a lot of inquiries about
upcoming IDPA Matches at Waterloo
Rifle & Pistol Club due to
the SAFE Act laws instituted in New
York. Reviewing the law, speaking with local law
enforcement, and other IDPA clubs in the
area, WRPC is
continuing its IDPA matches with one minor change. Only
10 round magazines are allowed during matches.
The use of hi--capacity mags to
top off firearms or
their use during the course of
fire will be discouraged.
The Match Director and WRPC do not represent law
enforcement, but we do expect and
encourage your cooperation.
The
Battle is Not Coming---It is
Here! NOW is the time for
you to contact lawmakers in
Washington, D.C., and
New York State, and let them know
that gun bans and
other restrictions on our Second Amendment
rights are not the solution.

The Indoor Range Has Reopened O On September
8, 2009 the Membership was invited to come in and try out the new all-steel backstop. O The project to re-model the old
backstop started in May 09 and took all summer to complete. After the removal of the old sand trap style bullet backstop the fabrication of the 3" & 5" steel channel
sub- structure for the new back-stop began. The substructure supports eight 4'x10'
sheets of 3/8" AR-400 across the 32' width of the range The structure also supports
a 10" pipe and upper deflector plate across the entire top. Bullets striking the AR-400 plates slide up and into a 4.5" opening in the side of the 10" pipe causing them to circle inside the pipe where the bullet's energy and speed are diminished to the point where
gravity takes over and the bullets and bullet frag- ments harmlessly slide back down the front of the AR-400 plate. The lead and copper jackets that accumulate at the bottom of the front plate are picked up and recycled. 1/2" plate is used to cap off the ends of the backstop and for added safety
1/2" conveyor belting was hung between
the target carriers to help contain any bullet frag- ments that might bounce
back off the backstop toward the shooters. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo The Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club would like to
extend a very special special thanks to Frazier
Industrial Co. & Sessler Wrecking both in Waterloo, NY. Frazier
Industrial Co. donated the 3" & 5" steel chan- nel while Sessler Wrecking donated the
conveyor belting.
