These events are held outdoors on the WRPC Rifle Range four times each year: roughly in Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. The focus is on informal and friendly competition using vintage (pre-1950) military rifles, including .22 rimfire training rifles, firing on a variety of targets at ranges from 50 to 100 yards.
Our goal is to enjoy using these firearms in a safe manner, and sharing information. Targets include 50 yd bullseye, rimfire falling metal targets, metal silhouettes at 100 yds, bowling pins, and other reactive targets. Vintage military pistols are also used in some events.
All firearms brought to these events must be NY State compliant and must be used with NY-legal magazines. Popular arms include 1903 and 1903A3 Springfield, 1917 Enfield, Mk 1 and Mk4 Enfield, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M96 and M38 Swedish Mauser, Gew98 and K98 Mauser, 1911 and K31 Swiss 7.5mm, and similar rifles.
Dates and times of events are announced 4 weeks in advance via email to all WRPC members, and by posting on the WRPC Events Calendar. The fee for the shoot is $10, and includes lunch.
